Slow Down and Listen

"Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!" God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.

Most of you have probably read the above in a story that goes around the internet via emails. I have read it various times in the past few years, but tonight, as I read it, I felt a warning impressed upon my heart to keep my radar up and not let busyness keep me from remembering what this season is really all about. Jesus is the Reason for the Season! We've all heard that. My goal is to make this the most precious Christmas around our house that we have ever had! I hope to have more people over for cookies and hot chocolate. (Well, here in tropical Tampa, we may prefer iced tea,!) I hope to "be there" for friends, I hope to slow down and listen amidst all the festivities to hear God's whispers to me, I hope to create an atmosphere of peace and contentment where ever I am. But most of all, I hope to point others to the real meaning of Christmas, Jesus!
