This week, I wanted to share with you all a painting I have of "Mexican Women at the Market". I love the vibrant colors and the reality of it. I have seen similar scenes on countless occassions while living or visiting in Mexico. I think my favorite thing about this painting is that the lady in the forefront is carrying her baby on her back. She or someone has handed the baby a flower to entertain him. My mother in law owns several of these style aprons, many of which seem to be made in the same checkered fabric as painted here. This hangs above our table in the breakfast nook. I took the photo of it from a side angle so the light from the flash wouldn't be distracting!
HAVE A WONDERFULLY BLESSED WEEKEND!

Yes you are right, this painting is so colourful and cheerful! I just enlarged it to admire all the details! I saw similiar paintings when we were vacationing in the the Caribbean.
I reminds me as well of all the paintings of Paul Gaugain during his stay in the South Seas, what brilliant colours they all used and are still using!
Thanks for sharing and best wishes from Germany,
Anita
I love the bright colors of the Mexican art. Being a native New Mexican I love that heritage and style in everything, including the food!!!

I enlarged the picture to see the wonderful details. I believe my late mother in law called that style of apron "cobbler" She used to wear those quite often.
