Thank You Lord...

...for the miracle on the Hudson River, New York, this evening!

While the crash itself was an awful thing, I couldn't help but feel proud after learning that all souls were safe. I even felt a little warm and fuzzy as I heard stories related by news anchors about the heroes of the day. The pilot did a phenomenal job and I am convinced it was the hand of the Lord that caused that plane to stop before hitting the George Washington bridge! To think there were no deaths or major injuries amazes me; but hearing how smoothly the rescues went and that pedestrians were involved in any way they needed to be helpful was such a blessing. To hear the reports, with such positive, glowing words reminded me that yes, indeed, I do live in the best country on earth! I guess hearing about Americans coming together in a tragedy was a needed break from all the mud slinging and criticizing that has plagued our airwaves for much too long! Albeit our country has more problems than we would like and we have some real sleaze balls in our citizenry, our good outweighs our bad. We have many wonderful things we should praise about our nation. We have many great people living amongst us. It's just too sad that it sometimes takes a tragedy for us to see how strong and decent our nation and citizens really are!

Did anyone feel a sense of pride when hearing the positive actions and results after the crash? This tragedy which turned into a triumph, helped remind me that I live in the best country on earth!

Another emotional half hour for me was the time I spent watching our President Bush giving his farewell speech. What love he has for this country and how unkindly he has been treated! I'm so thankful that he never wavered nor left his principles. I'm thankful he was a REAL man, not working to be popular, but working to keep us safe! Don't ever let it escape your memory that he and his policies have kept us safe for nearly eight years. I'm also very proud for all the money and effort he has put into fighting aids in Africa. I believe his approval rate there is 80%!!! May God go with him as he begins a new chapter in his life next week.

no dearie I'm still following...if you look closely you have 20 followers, but only 18 are shown, Susan and I, as your first 2 followers got bumped off the sidebar. But if you click on the "see all" feature we're still there!

There is some way to show more followers...but I don't know what it is. :-)

I believe that God Himself guided that plan down. Those people on board should kneel down every day and thank God.

I wish George and Laura Bush the very best, but you can bet that the left will continue to blame Bush for every thing long after he leaves office. The left hasn't given him credit for anything from day one.

We tuned into the news and watched about the plane. The pilot did a great job but like you said it was all credit to The Lord. I hope to hear more people on the plane credit Jesus for the safe flight and not just the pilot.
Yes indeed you live in one of the best countries in the world :) I live in the other one :):) hahaa

I want to write a post on my blog soon thanking President and Mrs. Bush. I will be sad to see them go :(
Im sure he will continue to get blamed but I dont care what those liberals continue to say..I think Pres. Bush is a brave man and wasnt afraid to fight and protect your country. I dont think we will see the same bravery in the next person who is taking over :(
Of course, God is ultimately in control anyway so nothing to fear.
And thats my political speech for tonight LOL

What a wonderful post. It is sad that it always seems to take a tragedy to bring Americans together, and so unfortunate, that the memory of the tragedy seems to waiver too soon and become forgotten.

I, too, am emotional over the end of President Bush's presidency. I love this man and the fact that he stood for what he believed in even though it was unpopular. I pray that God blesses him and his family as they begin a new chapter in their life, as well.

It is such a joy to see him relaxed. You can tell he is eager to get out of that office. I'm so proud of him that he is such a man of integrity. Such a missing ingredient in our society...integrity. You have to have the Lord to have true integrity. History will vindicate President George W. Bush!!!!!

I know God had his hand on that pilot and that plane. I'm sure we'll hear from him in the near future. He's the American Hero right now. I hope he gives God the honor.
I watched the farewell address too. It was touching and I also watched his last press conference. I was proud of him for defending himself and really speaking candidly to those reporters. He's a great man who definitely stuck with his principles.
Thanks for posting this tribute to him.

Good post. I am wishing the Bushes the most wonderful year away from Washington. Don't you know they're itching to get back to Texas.....and my son said it was the weirdest things seeing the airliner floating down the Hudson with people standing on the wing. Indeed a miracle. Will pray for your Dad. Keep us posted. Jane

I too was just so proud of the way that people did take care of each other. ALSO as a MOM of a SOUTHWEST AIRLINES Pilot, who I know is capable of the same thing and has had close calls when he used to fly into Iraq..my heart swelled with thankfulness.
I hope that those who do not know Jesus will realize how SHORT life is and get saved....and the Lord would put people in their lives to point them...that this all will produce some great Christians with strong testimonies.
