It's Not Good That I'm Home Alone Today

...Because I'm much too melancholy, I can't stop crying! I'll truly miss the Bushes.

As I listened to President Obama's speech, I was happy to hear him use muscular language concerning terrorism and I was thrilled when he acknowledged (FINALLY) that we are at war and we will DEFEAT the enemy. That, my friends, was not the language he used during his campaign.

As I watched President Bush chatting with the Obamas causing them to laugh as they came down the steps after the ceremony, I was filled with pride that Mr. Bush never swayed from his core principles but remained his friendly, down to earth self.

As I watched Mrs. Bush and President Bush embrace the Obamas then speak intimately with them before boarding their helicopter, I was reminded of the Bush's maturity and graciousness during the past eight years.

As I watched the helicopter flying away, I was met with another flood of emotion, tears flowed and I bawled loudly!

As I switched through the different channels, trying to get a handle on how some were treating this great moment in history, only on MSNBC were they allowing the sound to stream from a particular group singing to the helicopter, "La la la la, La la la la, Hey Goodbye" over and over. I was reminded once again about those Hatemongers over there! Only on MSNBC folks can you find such blatant, cheesy, disrespect!

As I listen to the news, I'm once again impressed with the Bush's graciousness and courtesy as I learn they are having a private farewell ceremony in a hangar at Andrew's Air Force Base, with the press closed out. Not Clintonesque at all! Remember the Clinton's openly hung around for way too long after President Bush's inauguration ceremony?

As I watch President Bush being escorted by the military to the hangar, he seems to be "choking up". I find myself "choking up" right along with him.

Good-bye Laura and Mr. President. You will be missed!

Aa I get started now with my daily duties, I'll be in a state of prayer for my country and my new President and his family.

I didn't watch it this morning.
But now you have me crying.

Also, about your dad, I pray he'll heal quickly. I know he's resting better now that he is at home.

I'll be praying for our new President and for our country.

I'm right there with you. It's a strange day...one of sadness for having to say goodbye to the Bushes and one of hopefullness for the Obamas. I admit I did not vote for him, but I pray he is the one to turn our country around.

Hugs!

They showed grace to the end....and I have to believe they were very glad to be getting out of D.C. and back to Texas!!! We must keep our eyes and our ears open.....having eyes to see and ears to hear what the Lord is saying about our country and what is being done.

Sorry you had a bad day. I was all sad and depressed when he won the election, 2day wasn't as bad for me...probably because it wasn't all over the press here like in the US.

Hi Pam,
I came over from Cozy Comforts.
I know how you feel. I was emotional today as well. However, my kids kept checking on me to see if I was crying so I held it back for the most part.

I am happy for the Bush's in that they can finally get some relief from the constant picking at them. I loved seeing the Speech given on their return to Texas. I thought Pres. Bush was so relaxed and real.

Have a better day tomorrow. God is in control and we can trust in Him! That is the great news!

Pam, on Fox News and CBS, when President Bush was introduced just prior to the inauguration of Obama, you could hear many in the crowd booing him. That angered me to no end.

I find myself unable to pray for Obama's success since he plans to sign the Freedom of Choice Act, and repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and he is also in support of legalized same-sex marriage nation wide. Those are values that are against God's laws and they are not my moral values. Therefore, not only can I NOT pray for him but I cannot even consider him to be my president.

I, too, have been teary over the Bush's leaving office. I truly love this family and will really miss them. I have never been so affected by a President during my lifetime before.

I'm going to have to disagree with Rev. Gregori...the command to pray for our leaders (I Timothy 2:1-3) was given to the church/christians when Nero was ruling. Nero...the man who burned Christians at the stake, one of the most blood thirsty rulers of all time. We must pray for our President... to recieve Christ, to love Christ, to honor Christ, to follow Christ.
