*Closes the cabinet doors?

*Asks others to smell their house, just to get a third party opinion?

*Puts the dishes in the diswasher (as opposed to the counter a mere matter of INCHES above the dishwasher. Ive even tried leaving the dishwasher door open as a subtle hint, but to no avail!)?

*Pulls the shower curtain closed?

*Turns off the lights?

*Picks up the paper/box/shoe/sock/whatever, that is in the middle of the entry and everyone is walking around?

*Puts the cordless phone back on the charger?

*Throws away old items in the fridge?

*Moves the old newspapers from the "reading receptacle" to the trash?

*Picks up the towels off the bathroom floor ?

*Cleans the scum that grows around the faucet ?

*Picks up the tiny pieces of trash that accumulates in the corners of the room (where the vaccum can't pick up) ?

*Straightens the welcome mat on the front porch ?

*Smells the kitchen rags to see if they're stinky enough to be washed ?

*Speaking of smelling things (a nose is an important "tool" in mommy's world)....smells the kids' hair to determine if they need a bath?

*Smells the laundry in the basket to see if it's a clean or dirty load? Tip! Never, and I repeat NEVER smell underwear, always assume those are dirty, even if they aren't!

*Gets on all fours and smells the carpet, just to see if that pee stain the
dog left, came out (am I the only one that does that?) >

*Turns the heat down at night ?

*Looks to see if the toilet paper is out in the bathroom BEFORE going as opposed to doing the bathroom scream, "CAN SOMEONE GET ME SOME TOILET PAPER?" ...that NEVER happens to a mommy.

*Throws away the reading magazines in the bathroom that are water- logged, ripped and otherwise trashed but still sitting there for reading?

*Has dust bunnies on the mind?

*Cleans the toothpaste goop off the tube, walls and counter?

*Notices when it's time to get a new toothbrush?

*Knows exactly how much soap is left in all the shampoo bottles even though the bottles aren't see through?

*Knows how many meals that cube of cheese will last until its gone?

*Is the only one to ever think about running the butter dish through the
washing machine?

*Cleans out the hair that accumulates down the drains....yuk! It's a dirty job but someone has to do it?

*Saves rubber bands for future use to close the tops of food packages?

I loved all of these, and most of them were ME (especially the test-smelling of everything. And I'm with you, any sock or underwear I find gets picked up with the tips of my fingers and put back in the hamper) We all need someone we can trust, to come in and give us a third party opinion of our home's smell!! And I have seen my entire family trip over and walk over some item on the floor, and no one seems to think it might just be easier to pick it up. Why is that? Hmmm, we moms really are important!! :-)

Love the underwear tip. I use this tip with all clothes laying on the floor. If hubby's around I'll ask if its dirty or clean, but if he's not there, into the hamper it goes. I'm busy enough that I dont feel the need to sniff the armpits of shirts and never, never, sniff snocks or undies. Makes me gag just thinking about it!

You have a tiny, pathetic mind.

Ugh! I thought the hair just slowly went down the drainer!

I like your post! It is hilarious!

Sounds like someone needs to mind their manners! A tiny, pathetic mind can think only to post a comment meant to offend.

LOL, that was good. :)

ANONYMOUS: Obviously you are not joyed to have others do these tasks for you ---or else you never notice them!!!

Maybe you should take stock and rethink your accuasation before you truly belittle someone....as you can see (assuming you care to read a total blog post), this was copied from someone else!!

So, if you can't be courageous enough to post your own name, keep your comments to yourself. The are not exhorting anyone!!

Now, to your post, Midnight Musings,...I know that these mundane things we do on a regulare basis. Some trouble me more than others....and yes, I started that underwear trick many years ago!!

Sometimes, I leave things, just as an experiment....just to see if I am the only one it bothers!!LOL

Funny funny stuff!!!!

I was wondering that myself! LOL Who says MOM's aren't overworked? Good post Pam!

Pam, that was very funny, I think because I saw myself in there. Oh, it really is a great life being a mom and one with a good "smeller." lol. connie from Texas

Even though I don't have kids yet, I can already relate to some of those items!

Pam I love the 'can you tell me if my house smells?'...

Great undies tip!

To anonymous...always typical to not identify the culprit in the house. Whenever I asked who left the milk out I always get not me. Thanks for making me remember that after I read all the other cute comments. Right to a mother's heart...not me even on a blog comment( by remaining anonymous)

LOL! Oh, the 'joys' of motherhood. ;o) Thanks for sharing this list.

Hope you're enjoying the CM series. I have that series, too, and hope to begin it soon.

Enjoy your week ~

I can so relate to that! I think the only reason that mom's take care of these things is because we DO take care of these things and other family members just assume we will take care of it! does that make any sense?

Beemoosie said...

That was great, Pam!!! I have to admit though, my DH cleans out the fridge!!! LOL!

Amen! ALWAYS assume the underwear is dirty.

Love the list. I must check out the web site.

Pam, I am sorry that someone chose to put you down here again. But don't worry, only gutless cowards leave anonymous comments. That is said with no animosity, only truth. :)
We all love you and see the wonderful, sweet person God has made you.

I could see myself all in that list. I did an experiment once and let a t-shirt lay on the coffee table for a solid week.....I couldn't take it any more. I think I was the only one that even noticed it, hehehe.

A person who belittles is only trying to make themselves feel better about themselves.

This list is so, so true! Thanks for posting it, it was really cute and gave me a few laughs this morning.

Anonymous-I'm guessing you are not a mom and only small minds would leave a comment like that.

Oh well.. I just always think that God gave us women a better sense of smell! Thus we get to use it!

Here in Venezuela, we have a small water heater. Not like the big things you guys have in the States. So small it's plugged to a normal outlet. You know well, who's the one keeping track if the thing is unplugged at night!!

I'm one of your sister's readers, always enjoy your posts. Hope you feel better with your doctor's new advice.

Saludos, Liz

My SIS has an incredible nose! She will clean her fridge, pull out a container, sniff, GAG, then stick it up to your nose and say, "Smell this awful stuff!"
