2nd INSTALLATION OF PHOTOS FROM OUR ROAD TRIP

When one arrives to the tunnels, one knows they are soon to enter into
"WILD & WONDERFUL WEST VIRGINIA"!!! That was our destination back in July. Shane was excited about these. He hadn't been in a tunnel since a small child.

First up, East River Tunnel. We're still in Virginia.

The approach to BIG WALKER MOUNTAIN!

Are you familiar with the folk song BIG BAD JOHN? (click and take a listen!)

Local legend has it that the accident happened here at Big Walker Mountain.

In the belly of Big Walker Mountain!

As in real life, there is always light at the end of the tunnel!

The first thing you see upon exiting the tunnel is this welcome sign. Now, you've arrived in my state of birth: "Wild and Wonderful West Virginia". By now, you've reached high elevation. My ears were plugged and crackling.

I enjoy clicking on this last photo for a close look at all the trees! While having beautiful scenery in Florida, this view was a nice change of pace.

I love that tunnel. I wonder what it would be like to walk through it.

I don't know if I would like the tunnel....I am pretty claustrophobic.

I didn't realize you went through a tunnel in getting there.
