Summary of Sunday

I missed church yet again! I can't remember ever having missed so much church in my life! Shane has the sore throat and low grade fever again, with some chest congestion. I don't know if he may have picked something up again Wednesday night at Patch Club or Friday at his Grandparent's house. His cousin, Josh Vernoy is staying there during his spring break and is ever so sick. So it's 6 of one and half dozen of another as to where Shane picked it up. Please pray for him. This is his third time going through this virus or whatever it is. Thank goodness, it isn't Dengue! (Right Kim?) It just seems for a couple of months now, it has been either he or I sick. It is getting very old, let me tell you, very old!

Speaking of my nephew Josh Vernoy. He could use your prayers as well. He is a Junior in college, majoring in Pastoral Studies. He has his own bus route, works 5 nights a week, is RA for the boy's dorms, preaches every chance he get, (he LOVES that!) and has many other activities and responsibilities. He has been sick this entire 2nd semester! He has ran the gamut from sinusitis, to viral infections, to bronchitis, oh and did I mention he has asthma anyway? He needs to rest!!! Pray that this next week or so, while on break and living at his grandparent's home, he can sleep in since he will have no classes and goes into work at 5 p.m. to let his body and mind rest a bit. I know his mom (Jungle Mom from The Jungle Hut) would appreciate those prayers for her baby as well; seeing as how she is on a different continent and all! We know her heart and concern is with him. We also know from her testimony, that she has left her son in her God's hands and trusts Him completely!

The two cousins! (Josh Vernoy & Josh Rios) This was a big night! The boys had just spent all afternoon moving into their dorm for their first year of Bible college at Florida Baptist College. This was the inaugural year for the school. It was an emotional evening as we realized our boys were an important part of history. The evening culminated with a beautiful buffet dinner cooked and presented by the resident chef. Dessert was a huge cake! The frosting on the celebratory cake had lots of green food coloring in it! Later, everyone laughed so hard when Dr. Turner, President of the college, got up to speak and he too had this same look, which he had just laughed at a few minutes prior when he saw the two boys at the beverage station!


Hubby just called and said he is just now leaving work. It is 11:44 p.m. He is bringing home a pizza! Oh my! I haven't eaten since lunch, which was a healthy salad! Maybe one piece? I promise I will walk an extra block or two tomorrow! LOL


My son, Josh, is making me so proud these days! He has become such a responsible young man and I couldn't be prouder! I've seen him do some amazing things for people lately. It's very touching! He recently received a raise at work! That was very encouraging to him. He is becoming more proficient with his job and now has reached the point where he can be sent to one job site, while my brother goes off to meetings or another job site.

His 20th birthday is coming up April 6th, so we are planning a family day out at Busch Gardens. We get the Fun Card which is a great bargain. We pay for one day's admission, then with proof of Florida residency, we get the Fun Card which allows us admission throughout the rest of the year, FREE!!! Let me tell you, with all of our out of state friends and relatives that come down to sunny Florida to visit *us* (yeah right!), we make many trips a year to Busch Gardens!

One more prayer request. My friend Grace, who is a Junior in Crown College of the Bible, is leaving Monday morning for England! This is a mission's trip that she has been so excited about for the past few months! She has asked us to pray that the people of England will be tender to the message of Christ's love that she and the other college kids will be presenting. Pray that the group will all maintain Christian testimonies as well. Then of course, this should go without saying, safety. Another young lady from our church went to England with Crown College the year of the subway bombings! Yes, she was there about an hour away from London. Thankfully, the entire group was sheltered in the arms of God.

Roger Bennett Graduates to Heaven

Below is an email I received from Ernie Haase today concerning Roger. After battling leukemia for 12 years, God has finally called him home. My heart grieves for his dear family, but yet rejoices to know Roger is out of pain and praising the Savior which he sang about!

It is with much sadness that I must tell you that our friend Roger Bennett has gone to be with the Lord. Scott Fowler just called and told me that Roger went peacefully and with his wife Debbie at his side. Roger Bennett, along with myself, George Younce, Glen Payne and Scott Fowler had the great blessing of traveling together for the last 10 years of the Cathedral Quartet's career. Roger made those long miles very fun and enjoyable.

The sadness we all feel right now is not for Roger ..... he's healthy and whole ... free at last from the body of disease! Our grief is for his family and for our own personal loss. Not having Roger around is what makes our hearts heavy.

I and all the Signature Sound family grieve today along with all the Gospel Music world.

We will miss you ol buddy!

A friend sent me the following information. I can't vouch for them since I haven't tried any yet. However, I do intend to try a few of these ideas. They make snese to me. Have any of you tried any of these home-made cures? If so, I would love to hear about it in my comment section.

Did You Know That ...

Drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately -- without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional "pain relievers."

Did you know that Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns.

Before you head to the drugstore for a high-priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of curiously strong Altoids peppermints. They'll clear up your stuffed nose.

Achy muscles from a bout of the flu? Mix 1 Tablespoon of horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant relief for aching muscles.

Rainy day cure for dog odor ... Next time your dog comes in from the rain, simply wipe down the animal with Bounce or any dryer sheet, instantly making your dog smell springtime fresh.

Eliminate ear mites .. All it takes is a few drops of Wesson corn oil in your cat's ear. Massage it in, then clean with a cotton ball. Repeat daily for 3 days. The oil soothes the cat's skin, smothers the mites, and accelerates healing.

Thursday's Random Activities

Well, it all started at 12:30 a.m. with a phone call from my hubby's brother from down Mexico way. He wasn't being unthoughtful by calling at such an ungodly hour; he knows his brother works many late nights and was simply trying to catch him at home! I spoke just a moment with Elias, wondering what was wrong! He seemed calm enough and was only offering small talk. I awoke my hubby. As I listened, I could tell that his brother was wanting to come see us on his vacation, possibly in April. Would we be able to pick him up in Orlando if he landed there? So that was exciting and all good! I think he wants to come to the states to do some shopping before their little sis graduates from law school in June. He always sees that she has the best! The best laptop, the best clothes, the best perfume, the best jewelry! Since he is a bachelor and makes BIG MONEY- I say - "Hey, Why not!?"

Speaking of my sister in law's graduation from law school! We had thought all of us would be flying down in June, but it is looking more and more like my husband will be the only one going. There are several reasons for this. I could feel the disappointment in his mom's voice on the phone yesterday when we told her the boys and I weren't coming. There is still a chance we all can go. It just depends on a few things falling into place first. We are continuing to keep it before our Heavenly Father in prayer.

My husband had the day off today, but had to get up and out of the house early today to have our SUV into the dealership for some work by 8:00 a.m. Nothing is wrong with it, but it was time to change all the fluids and filters, get an oil change, rotate the tires, add free-on to the air, just maintenance stuff which came to a total of $624.00 and some odd change! Agustin had the guy at the dealership give him a ride to my mom's since he was already in Tampa. He spent a quiet relaxing day there with my dad. I stayed home! I began my day by eating a boiled egg so I would have something on my stomach before taking my meds. I then checked my email and blogged awhile, waiting for some pain relief to kick in. Finally at about 10:30, I was feeling relaxed and ready to sleep. I went back to bed and slept until 3:00 p.m.!!! Yes, you read that right, but please keep in mind, I had only slept about 2 hours the night before and Shane was over at my mom's. It was quite nice actually!

I did get up, have coffee, read my Bible, got dressed, checked my bank statement online, and watched a little Food Network! That made me hungry, so I went foraging for food! Aw hah! There was half of my foot long Philly Steak and Cheese sub-sandwich left from last night! I warmed that up and YUM! I then chatted with Josh a little.

I then cleaned my two bathrooms, floors and all. Dusted the family room and windexed the glass entertainment center. Then hubby returned home and wanted the other half of his sub-sandwich as well. So I didn't even have to cook tonight! How good is that?

After he was on line awhile IMing with my sister, he turned the computer over to me. So here I am finishing up my day, doing one of my favorite things! Blogging and posting! But I must bid you adieu and go spend some time with my dear husband. We have the whole house to ourselves tonight!

Chavez's Horse-Head Diplomacy

Latin America: Contrary to forecasts, President Bush's trip to the region is drawing friendly welcomes. Hugo Chavez, by contrast, is making a laughingstock of himself by shadowing Bush's tour. It'll probably cost him.

As TV cameras focus on anti-U.S. street protests, off-camera, Bush seems to be doing fine on his Latin American trip. Chavez, by contrast, is the one making mistakes, ones that work to Bush's favor and will likely reduce Chavez's influence.

Unable to stand Bush's invitations from Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico to visit, Chavez organized a tour of his own, bullying Argentina, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Jamaica and Haiti into visits from him on a week's notice.

But in Latin America, Chavez's shadow tour looks less triumphant than desperate, with some saying Chavez resembles a spurned teenage boyfriend still trying to get attention.
It's not surprising. Although Bush's poll numbers remain low in some parts of Latin America, Chavez's are rock bottom. A recent poll by Latinobarometro gave Bush a "positive image" among 30% of respondents, with Chavez trailing at 28%.

During his trip, Bush has forged a powerful new ethanol alliance with Brazil, renewed trade talks with Uruguay, encouraged Colombia and talked about immigration with Guatemala and Mexico.
Chavez by contrast has organized loud "gringo go home" rallies.

Even those seem to be a failure. Though South American nations are well known for massive street protests, the biggest anti-Bush rally, in Sao Paulo, drew only 6,000 protesters — not the 30,000 organizers had promised a day earlier.

By the way, in Spain last weekend 2.2 million people hit the streets of Madrid in a march against terrorism. Did you hear about that? And in Caracas, Chavez's own capital, protests of more than 6,000 against Chavez didn't get much coverage — yet they're happening.

Chavez's protests were an attempt to provoke. He had warned Bush earlier he'd be likely to get the same mobbing as then-Vice President Richard Nixon got during a visit to Caracas in the 1950s.

But what Chavez delivered wasn't a spontaneous anti-American attack, but the same old rent-a-mob leftist thugs in Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Bogota, Porto Alegre and Mexico City, who always show up for such events.

On a continent where protest attendance can easily run into seven figures, these anti-Bush protests were pathetic. In Bogota and Porto Alegre, only 500 showed up. In Mexico City, anti-Bush protesters numbered a whopping two dozen.

Meanwhile, in Argentina on Friday, Chavez could fill only 20,000 of 40,000 seats at a stadium event, even with paid and bused-in protesters. Chavez invited the presidents of Argentina, Ecuador and Bolivia as special guests, but all found better things to do that night.

Chavez blundered further after he flew off to Bolivia, where he loudly announced a $20 million aid package for flood victims who've been under water for a month. But officials refused to meet him, and publicly called him a meddler.

It got worse when AP reported Bolivians themselves peeking out from their USAID-stamped tents and refusing to greet Chavez, having already gotten the aid — when they needed it — from the U.S.

Chavez talked a big anti-American line, denouncing U.S. capitalism as the "road to hell" and threw in some new insults at George Washington, calling him an Indian killer. But the anti-Americanism didn't resonate — even with his own paid-for protesters.

Over in Brazil, a topless anti-Bush protester arrested for trying to flash President Bush's motorcade told reporters that what she really wanted was a U.S. visa.

In Guatemala, a local journalist explained to us that most protesters are angry about U.S. deportations of illegal immigrants and not being able to get visas into the U.S. easily. In short, Chavez's anti-American rhetoric was a resounding failure.

Still, like a spurned boyfriend, Chavez carries on his anti-U.S. tour — as Bush continues to encounter spontaneous, pro-U.S. rallies and signs of welcome.

With Chavez's rabid hatred of Bush and the U.S., he's starting to make mistakes and the rest of the region is starting to realize he's making an --- of himself. Bush is not losing ground in Latin America. Chavez is.

Unfair Labels

Below is an article I received today in "Daily Focus" from Alpha-Omega Publications.
I know some of you who visit my blog homeschool as I do. I found this to be a word of encouragement! Hope you do too!

What labels have been placed on your children because they homeschool? During our years of homeschooling, my children faced innuendos that ranged from mental retardation to religious fanatic. Today, the media still portrays homeschoolers as naive, unfashionably-dressed nerds. Even though studies prove the contrary, public educators also insist that homeschoolers are deprived of proper socialization. Why does the phrase “homeschooling” bring out such nastiness in people?

Unfair labels are nothing new. When Christ lived on earth, He suffered with being misunderstood by the multitudes, Jewish leaders, and even His friends and family. Unfair labels of trouble maker, demon-possessed, and foolish fanatic were placed on Him as He told the world about the Kingdom of God and His love. Although the label placed above Christ’s head on the cross was intended to mock Him more, it was the one label that the world got right when it read, “THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.” (Luke 23:38b)

So how do you live in a negative, anti-homeschooling world and not become negative yourself? As Christian homeschoolers, it seems we receive a double whammy from the world – unfair labels for our faith and unfair labels for our homeschooling. As hurtful as these labels can be, Christ can help us forgive and move beyond the painful remarks when they come. Jesus’ example of love on the cross shows us the way when He said, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:24)

Lord,

Strengthen me to stand against the world’s opinion of homeschoolers and teach me to love as You loved when You died on the cross. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Happy Birthday to a Special Someone!

Today, Saturday, is the birthday of my sweet niece Jackie Jo Vernoy McCobb! That's her in the photo above with her knight in shining aromor!

How can it be 22 years already since the announcement of her birth? Boy, time does fly. I feel I have a special bond with Jackie for several reasons. One, she was my very first niece! Two, I moved all the way to Mexico just to care for her while her parents attended an intensive language course before going to Venezuela. Three, she is a fun and easy person to talk to. She really listens to me. Even though she is ____ years younger than me, she gives me good advice. (Since we have both been accused of being *economists*, I should be able to do the math here!) Four, she makes me laugh so hard and so much, whether we are together or on the phone or IMing! It doesn't matter. Something will cause us both to break out in fits of hard belly laughs! I love it! Five, she loves the Lord so much and desires to be a Proverbs 31 lady!

Happy Birthday my dear Jackie. I miss you, but I'm so happy you are in God's will serving as a missionary in Paraguay!

Who Sounds Like The Better Statesman?

"The U.S. president today is a true political cadaver, and now he does not even smell of sulfur anymore," Chavez told a raucous stadium crowd, alluding to Bush's waning years in office. "What the little gentleman from the North now exudes is the smell of political death, and in a very short time, he will be converted into cosmic dust and disappear from the stage."

Chavez added that he did not come to sabotage Bush's visit, saying the timing was a coincidence, even as Bush landed in Uruguay for a 36-hour visit.

Chavez is using his country's vast oil wealth to reach out to ordinary Latin Americans and to court other leftist leaders.

Asked directly about Chavez's latest taunts, Bush refused to mention Chavez by name, a common practice. "I bring the good will of the United States to South America and Central America," he said. "That's why I'm here."

Texas and Respect For Our Soldiers!

In Texas they really do pull off the road and stop for funerals......nobody moves until the last car has gone by.

What follows is a message from Vicki Pierce about her nephew James' funeral (he was serving our country in Iraq): "I'm back, it was certainly a quick trip, but I have to also say it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. There is a lot to be said for growing up in a small town in Texas. The service itself was impressive with wonderful flowers and sprays, a portrait of James, his uniform and boots, his awards and ribbons. There was lots of military brass and an eloquent (though inappropriately longwinded) Baptist preacher. There were easily 1000 people at the service, filling the church sanctuary as well as the fellowship hall and spilling out into the parking lot. However, the most incredible thing was what happened following the service on the way to the cemetery. We went to our cars and drove to the cemetery escorted by at least 10 police cars with lights flashing and some other emergency vehicles, with Texas Rangers handling traffic. Everyone on the road who was not in the procession, pulled over, got out of their cars, and stood silently and respectfully, some put their hands over their hearts. When we turned off the highway suddenly there were teenage boys along both sides of the street about every 20! feet o r so, all holding large American flags on long flag poles, and again with their hands on their hearts. We thought at first it was the Boy Scouts or 4H club or something, but it continued ... for two and a half miles. Hundreds of young people, standing silently on the side of the road with flags. At one point we passed an elementary school, and all the children were outside, shoulder to shoulder holding flags . kindergartners, handicapped, teachers, staff, everyone. Some held signs of love and support. Then came teenage girls and younger boys, all holding flag! s. Then adults. Then families. All standing silently on the side of the road. No one spoke, not even the very young children. The military presence..at least two generals, a fist full of colonels, and representatives from every branch of the service, plus the color guard who attended James, and some who served with him . was very impressive and respectful, but the love and pride from this community who had lost one of their own was the most amazing thing I've ever been privileged to witness. Urgent Prayer Request

Roger was the pianist for the Cathedral Quartet for many years. I have met him personally on several occasions. I was always impressed and deeply touched when he would just hand music over to my sister and her family, FREE OF CHARGE, once he realized they were missionaries. He has written some of the most beautiful songs to be sung!

Once at a Cathedral concert, at Word of Life, here in Florida, I let loose of my little Shane's hand. He was about 2 years old at the time. Well, that was a huge mistake. He shot off like a rocket after having been couped up in his car seat for a long ride to the Camp. I saw him heading straight for Roger and the Director of Word of Life, where they stood near the front of the auditorium deep in conversation! I didn't catch the little booger in time and -whoosh- right through Roger's legs he flew! I was running behind in hot pursuit!. Roger just rubbed the little tike's head after he passed through, then he glanced at me and chuckled out loud. I think he said something like, "What's he running for? We haven't even started singing yet!" I can't really remember. I was so embarrassed!

I've had a few more conversations with Roger over the years , when I wasn't red with embarrassment! He was always friendly and accessable. Once I mentioned that I had lost my Midnight Meditations CD on the way home from their last concert. I was going to buy a new one. He insisted I just take one! I really did argue no, that wouldn't be right, but he leaned over the table and stuck one in my diaper bag! I will always remember his acts of kindness.

WRITTEN ON ROGER'S JOURNAL FROM DEBBIE BENNETT

Well, I hardly know what to write. It has surely been a long few days,weeks, etc., etc. I spoke to the teams of doctors this morning, and they have no new news since yesterday, really. I know there are other tests scheduled for today, and yesterday, they inserted a line and began dialysis. I hope this will help pull some toxins out of his body, and maybe that will jump start things.

The doctors still do not understand what is happening in his body. Besides the obvious infections, which I have described previously, there is still something unidentified that is not allowing him to heal. I have not been able to speak with him since Monday, and I never knew how many things I would want to ask him or talk to him about.

We are all holding up pretty well. Doug came down Tuesday night, and although it is terribly painful for him to see his only child in this state, he is bearing up. Chelsea and Jordan were able to be here on Sunday, so they had a couple of days where they could visit with him. Jordan had to fly back yesterday, and that was so hard. I didn't want to put him on that plane alone, and it was heartbreaking watching him say bye to his dad, not knowing what the future holds. I told him not to feel bad about leaving, since he was here when it really counted, and he is only a plane ride away, should he be needed again.

Chelsea was able to extend her visit, and can be here a few more days. My mom and dad are in Linden, TX right now to be with her Aunt Ora (who is the whole family's favorite) as she is dying. They asked if I needed them here, but I told them to stay with Aunt Ora, as there is little to be done here right now. If the tests that are run in the next few days do not give us more direction, there may be little that can be done for Roger. I do not discount a miracle, but that is what it seems it will take at this point.

I know there are prayers coming our way continuously.....we feel them, and we find much comfort in them. There is a peace in knowing that God is in control, and is working a perfect plan. It may not always feel good, but we continue to trust. I am glad I don't have to orchestrate it all. Please just continue to pray. So many have asked what they can do to help, but that is what we need more than anything. I'd love to see that miracle come our way, but whatever happens, we know we win. There is no down side for Roger. I love you all, and appreciate your support.

MR. RIGHT! I snagged this from my sister's blog. But first, let me share a funny with you! I started answering the below questions. To be sure I got them all correct, I kept yelling to Agustin in the den. "Honey, are you still 43?" "Si" he answered. Next question: "Mi Amor, how tall are you:" He replies: "I'm 5'8" or 5'9"." I ask him, "Well, can I measure you? I want to be accurate." Then I hear, "What are you doing? Ordering my box already?" (He calls caskets boxes! LOL) Then he says in a loud, booming voice, "HOW RUDE!!

His age? 43 and a half

How tall is he? 5'8"

How long did you know each other before you got together? one week after meeting we were dating, then married in 7 months.

What physical features attracted you to him first? His beautiful skin & big white smile, oh and the way he could handle a soccer ball!

Eye color? Brown

Hair color? Jet black! I have found a few gray ones lately near his temples. I probably put them there! LOL

Hair style? contemporary, short, gelled into place

Normal outfit? Dress clothes and tie for work each day, but prefers shorts or jeans and t-shirts on his days off.

How did you meet? An American Missionary friend was dating my husband's sister. He got permission to invite me to a birthday supper for my hubby's brother.

How serious is it? Oh it's very serious!

Are you "in love"? More and more each day!

Do your parents like him? Very much!

Do his parents like you? Yes

Do you trust him? Oh yes!

Would you share a toothbrush with him? I probably would after scalding it, but he wouldn't allow me to! He is a germ freak!

Would he let you wear his pants? LOL I guess if I really wanted to but ...

Do you have a shirt of his that you sleep in? Nope

Do you like the way he smells? after he bathes!

Can you picture having kids with him? Yes, but I think those days are over so now we look forward to having grandkids!

What bothers you the most about him? I had to come back and edit this answer. I had put something that he used to do and I feel that was unfair to my hubby. Currently I guess the best answer here would be: He is aging so much more gracefully than I am!

Does he have a temper? He does, but keeps it under control., (most of the time!)

Are you happy to be with him? Yes

Does he embarrass you in public? Not anymore.

Does he smoke or do drugs? Nope

Does he have any piercings? Oh goodness No!

Does he have any scars that you know of? Many from his days of semi-pro soccer in Mexico. Burns, stitches in the head, at work here in the USA he almost chopped a finger off!

Is he a party dude or stay at home? He used to be a party dude, but now is quite content to stay home

Is he outgoing or shy? Depends, he can be both depending on different factors

Does he love his mama? oh very much.

Would he hang out with you and your friends? Not for too long a period or too often. We usually do family things with other families.

Once Again, Allow me To Play "Catch Up"!

Not long ago, I finally got around to posting photos of our Christmas for my family members who live on other continents to enjoy. Tonight I was in a quandry, once again not able to decide what to post about. I have been in sort of a funk today, so I wasn't feeling very creative. I decided to browse through some photos and post some that my family members far away have not seen yet. I also thought it would be a good way for some of my newer *friends* who have been visiting my blog to get to know me a little better! I hope you enjoy the following photos of our Christmas Eve-2006!

Our festive evening began with a wonderful Christmas Eve service which was very moving as Pastor had the small ones come up on the platform and sit at his feet while he read the Christmas Story. There were some really cute exchanges of dialogue that took place between him and the children. After a short service, we were dismissed, but I noticed how many families lingered around, chatting and fellowshipping. It was a very nice feeling not to feel rushed to get home and get the kids in bed for school the next day. We hung around the auditorium for sometime visiting with many friends. Then the "photo shoot" started happening!

Three Lovely Leonard Daughters and Two Handsome Rios Sons!

After service, The Leonards and Riffes came home with us for a Mexican Feast! Here is Amber helping Agustin finish up the chicken enchiladas in "salsa verde"! The apron Amber is wearing was given to Agustin by some of his employees years ago. Notice the chili peppers all over it! Amber loved this apron so much, that Agustin gave it to her! Talk about *re-gifting*!

Following the Mexican tradition, after a late meal and the company left, we began opening our gifts! It was around 2:00 AM!

Agustin tried on his new silk pajamas I gave him. As he was about to turn the covers down and finally fall into bed for the night, our son, Josh, started a wrestling match! It is now around 3:00 AM!

It was a wonderful night, but I think it would have been even more wonderful if my sis and her whole crew could have been with us. Oh well, maybe this year!

Why I Have Been Scarce Around the Blogoshpere!

I have been a busy bee trying to make my home a little more homey! My Dear Hubby had two days off in a row last week and boy did we get into some deep cleaning around the house! Some of the things we accomplished together were:

1) Vacuumed, washed with Murphy's Oil Soap (known as MOS for remainder of this post) 2 ceiling fans. After they are clean, I like to go over them with Pledge, so they will be easier to dust between cleanings.

2)Removed and vacuumed, washed air vents in both bathrooms.

3)Changed air filters in all 4 of our return air vents. Vacuumed and washed with MOS.

4)Washed all air conditioning vents with MOS.

5)Washed master bedroom and master bath door jambs and doors with ??? You guessed it! MOS ( I love the way the house smells after using this stuff!)

6)Totally emptied our master bedroom closet. Vacuumed, washed baseboards with MOS, rehung all clothing on my new hangers! We both got rid of so much stuff. He pitched some old stained work pants from his days in the restaurant kitchen, 3 chef coats, a pair of shorts. I got rid of several dresses and skirt and top outfits, socks, 2 purses, lots of jewelry, and all my old hangers. (Sis, I am saving a box full of the plastic ones for when you get state side!)

7)Put everything back into closet after rethinking the best positioning for our categories.

8)After removing a small chest of drawers from the back of our closet, I have decided to paint it to match our bedroom and I will start using it to store scrap booking supplies beside of my corner desk! Photos to come later.

So that is why my posts have been short or premade for about a week now! I require lots of rest, so all this work was done sporadically. I am enjoying my newly organized closet though and rejoicing that I felt well enough to delve into it. However, it did take some prodding from my husband. The two large boxes of hangers and organizers had arrived from Home Shopping last month. He was so tired of them sitting in our bedroom, but he's so sweet. He knows I don't have enough energy to do a big job like that on my own, so he offered to do it with me. I call that LOVE!

Hubby and I back in December! He was pooped having just come in from work!

Urgent Prayer Requests!

A dear friend called today to let us know that his two daughters, ages 10 and 17, both have Dengue Fever! Yes, here in Florda! They were told by the Doctor that about 100 cases a year are reported in the United States. So please uphold the entire Leonard Family in prayer as they deal with this. The timing is strange because they have been praying with us for my missionary neice and her hubby in Paraguay who have just had the Dengue Fever!

Also, pray for the Walker Family. Jim (the dad) is an evangelist and the family all sing and play instruments. Their 22 year old daughter, Jessica, has just gone through a visit here in Tampa at Moffitt Cancer Center. You can read more about her case here: http://www.hopetoledo.org/Walkers.html

No. I used a clothes line for years. Finally after baby #1 was about 3 yrs. old we were able to afford a dryer. What a blessing!

Make the beds! I can't think straight until that is done!

No but would love to get one!

Ironing - Love it or hate it?
Love It - when my health is allowing me to get around. I could spend all day ironing! It is so rewarding to see crisp clothes hanging in my closets!

Junk drawer - Y/N? Where is it? Yes! In my kitchen with premade insert for dividing each item and each spot has a drawing of what goes in each spot. Example: picture of coins for "spare change" etc.

Kitchen - Color and decorating scheme. I am in transition, going from very country to simple elegance. My goal is to incorporate a garnet red with buttery/goldish yellow. I have builder's beige walls now and beige ceramic tiled floors. I have my antique pitcher collection on top of the cabinets on one of my walls. The other cabinets have all my mexican pottery and baskets and serape displayed on them.

Love - What is your favorite part of homemaking?
The results of a good night's rest after all floors are disinfected and sheets changed and everything has been fluffed and dusted!

Mop - Y/N?
Yes, but not as often as I used to. I vacuum first and then mop but often I spot mop areas with my hand and rag.

Nylons - Wash by hand or in the washing machine?
by hand

Oven - Do you use the window or open the oven door to check?

Pizza - What do you put on yours?
Lots of cheese! red sweet bell peppers, tomatoe slices, onions, sausage on mine and hubby's. Son wants only cheese, sometimes pepperoni

BLOG BLOG BLOG!! I do still read books sometimes as well!

Recipe card box?
Yes and one online at Food Network!

Style of house?
Single level contemporary built last year. High cathedral ceilings, lots of big windows. House is painted gray, trim is white.Patio out back overlooking pond.

Tablecloths and napkins -
I have a beautiful wooden table that I hate to cover, so I usually just use place mats for us, but for holidays, I will put on an appropriate table cloth with matching napkins. Paper napkins for us unless its a birthday or I feel my family needs to feel special, but cloth for company.

Under the kitchen sink - Organized or toxic wasteland?
Organized of course!

Vacuum - How many times per week?
Twice at least. More if I feel well.

Wash - How many loads of laundry do you do per week?
7 or 8.Sometimes more if I do rugs or something extra.

X's - Do you keep a daily list of things to do that you cross off?
Yes I have recently started this. I used to live by a list, but when I quit working out of the home, I sort of lost the habit. I recently realized how it helped me accomplish so much more to have a list, so I excitedly began this habit again.

Yard - Y/N? Who does what?
My husband does all the mowing and yard work. I do some weeding. I bring home pretty flowers sometimes and set them outside by my front door!

Zzz's - What is your last homemaking task for the day before going to bed?
Making sure my kitchen sink is empty. Does kissing my son count?
