Dessert anyone?
The scarf on the table was made by my Aunt Donna! I use it each Christmas!

The Best Put Down Line Ever!
For those that don't know him, Major General Peter Cosgrove is an "Australian treasure”. General Cosgrove was interviewed on the radio recently. You'll love his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you gotta love this! This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of an ABC interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military headquarters.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL COSGROVE:
We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?
GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?
GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
But you're equipping them to become violent killers.
GENERAL COSGROVE:
Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?
The radio went silent and the interview ended.

Merry Christmas!
My eldest arrived safely on Monday night! It felt so good to hug him tightly and squeeze!! He has grown!
I didn't know kids kept growing at 22 years of age!
My brother isn't coming home for Christmas thanks to a blizzard in the north, wreaking havoc at the job site and work didn't get done by deadline! Spoke with him on the phone today, he was working, trying to make up for lost time. I feel sad that he will be missing from our party tonight!
I'm missing my sister!
Had a blast shopping with my Shane last night until well after midnight. We forgot to eat supper, sooooo we committed an unpardonable sin in this household, we went through TACO BELL's drive through. (Remember my hubby is a chef and is MEXICAN - so perhaps you see why this whole TACO BELL thing is forbidden in our house!?) But Shane and I sure had fun breaking the rules after midnight! hehe
We are NOT having a traditional home cooked Mexican Christmas Eve meal tonight! (I think the earth just stopped spinning!) What with hubby's unemployment for two months and now in training at the new job, stress levels have been a tad elevated. Therefore, we made the decision to go "SIMPLE" tonight. One huge pot of penne pasta with meat sauce and cheesy garlic bread will be our fare tonight.
Glad we have lots of yummy desserts in the house!
Can't wait for the Banana Walnut Cake to arrive from Wright's Gourmet Deli!
I'm so happy we have a beautiful home, a loving family, a job, and even some gifts under the tree this year! God has truly been faithful in caring for and loving us!
Merry Christmas to all!

Shane's Birthday Continued
Notice Shane's peaked look? His friend Jacob had spent the previous night with us and those fellas didn't go to sleep until about 4 a.m.!!
We had a simple cookout for Shane's birthday dinner, his choice. Agustin had to work that evening, so my nephew Josh operated the grill.
This was Jewel's first day in town, on college break.
Earlier that morning - Shane and Jacob in their own little world. I love catching this age group when they let the walls down and some of their remaining inner child escapes!
My crazy nieces and nephew serenade Shane!

Can He Really Be Twelve?

It has happened folks! My little gummy bear now becomes embarrassed when I call him that nick name in front of others! He prefers I only hug him in the privacy of our home! His voice is deep, deep, deep! Where has my little teddy bear gone?
I'm actually pleased to report that my little bear has grown up to be a wonderful young man. He is thoughtful, considerate, kind, gentle, funny, witty, compassionate, smart, a clean freak, and well on his way to becoming a wonderful, godly man and leader!
December 4th, I loaded Shane and his buddy Jacob into the SUV and off we went to celebrate the happy occasion of Shane turning another year older. We had planned an evening at Grand Prix. (PuttPutt golf, arcade games galore, and go carts) but it was a crazy, stormy night with bucket loads of rain. So off to plan B we went. Q-ZAR laser tag! Indoor fun with a good sized arcade, and best of all---PIZZA!
Jacob then spent the night with us to culminate the celebration.

A Christmas Greeting
The lady who designs these electronic cards is a true genius! This is one of the prettiest that I have seen. I especially fell in love with the personality portrayed by the little angel as she flits around! You will enjoy watching this short Christmas Greeting...you might share with others.
Merry Christmas!

Caught in the Act...
of praying.
While walking through my parent's house the other night, I came upon this heart stirring sight and just had to run get my camera to capture it for my blog. What a blessed woman I am!
What you are looking at is one senior saint, wise and loving (my daddy), praying with another saint in need of encouragement (my husband), as he is seeking God's will in his life.
Agustin had just come from a wicked, discouraging day of training for his new job.

If you click on the photo to enlarge it, peek in the mirror and look at the men's reflections closely.
Tell me what you see there that stirs the heart even more.
HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY!

Overdose of Cuteness!
My niece Jackie and her two little princesses arrived in Florida on December 2nd. They spent their first week at my parents house and have spent this week at her brother's home. We have so enjoyed spending time with these two precious little ones. What pleasant, obedient, happy children they are! Thank you Brian and Jackie for doing such a good job as parents!
