After the Golf Carts----

at THE VILLAGES a week ago Sunday,

We waved goodbye to Sarah and the gang on the Straight Talk Express.

We officially started our week's vacation in Orlando! A little ways into our short road trip of an hour or so, we stopped at a FRIENDLY'S RESTAURANT. It was our first time to eat there.

ETA: Sat. 4:40 THIS PART OF MY POST HAS JUST BEEN EDITED. ANONYMOUS LEFT AN UNKIND REMARK ABOUT A COUPLE OF PHOTOS I HAD POSTED HERE OF MY SON. I DELETED THE COMMENT AND THE PHOTOS BECAUSE MY CHILD READS THIS BLOG.
ANONYMOUS - please know that we shared the ice cream sundae between three of us that evening. It was a splurge for us as we were just starting our vacation. We acknowledge we are obese, and are working on remedying that by implementing several lifestyle changes at home. However, we were in a festive mood that evening and felt like celebrating our great day and great ACTIVE week ahead. Thanks for your concern.
I've also implemented "comment moderation".

Finally, after a long day and a short trip, we arrived at the resort!

My little trooper hadn't felt well all day but never complained once, even while standing in the hot sun waiting for Gov. Palin to speak. Can anyone make out what his digital-camo hat reads?

We joined my aunts and cousin in the condo, where we spent time visiting and catching up until well into the night.
They had all flown down from West Virginia that morning.

I'll be posting more photos of our wonderful week with loved ones. I know Jungle Mom and her daughter will enjoy them. I'm not so sure the rest of my bloggy buddies will though! LOL

Chicken on a stick- A several years ago I was with my aunt on a mission trip to Mexico. We drove by a house that had a tiny pig tied to a stick in the yard. Pig on a stick! LOL

OK, can you tell I'm going to be really silly today?

I didn't see the photos or the comment you mentioned....but I really have to wonder...do some people have such sad little lives that they feel the need to leave rude comments?? How sad!

I had a commentor who I'm sad to say was a long time "friend" leave a thread of very rude and insulting comments on my Subvet's blog. So we banned him, implemented comment moderation and I put up this post.

I think every once in awhile folk need to be reminded of manners. I know how it hurts to have things said about your children. I didn't see the pics or the comment...but I piece together enough to say.

Sorry babe, some grown ups need to be spanked.

It was good to see all of you yesterday and to spend some time with Shane. The condo looks beautiful. I'm thinking the person who left those comments, must be a very sad person indeed.

Oh yes we do enjoy seeing them and thinking on what fun you've been having. Looks like a wonderful family and gathering.

Yes, there are sad little people who cannot allow anyone to have any fun, unless i's "sanctioned" by their pet cause.
They need a life!
And anonymous, I too have a weight problem, started by a severe bout of depression, and due to rheumatoid arthritis, every time I try to work it off, I get stove up.
So, until you have walked in another's shoes, show some grace.
Pa-Looks like y'all are having a great time, family is a GOOD THING!
Travel safe and enjoy!

Pam, I saw the photos on my first visit, and I am so so sorry to hear that someone left ugly comments about them. All I saw, was a beautiful, happy family enjoying some delicious food on a fun vacation!! I cannot understand why anyone would be that mean, argghhh!!! =(

(their mean comments say more about THEM, than YOU GUYS, anyway!!!)

It must be a pitiful existence to sit around, all alone, surfing the internet, just to make stupid comments to people you do not even know. What a sad life!May God send someone to them to show them a real life purpose and give them so hope and meaning.

I'm sorry all this happened. Your son is a beautiful little boy who will no doubt grow up to be a fine man like his parents. It really saddens my heart to know that people are so unkind. The pictures are lovely and I hope you continue to share with us.

Well, better late than never!!

Some people show their intelligence when they say mean things to people they are not even acquatinted with!!

Glad you had such fun on vacation!! I told you Mom I was on the next guest list---I will even be the maid --LOL

Your family is close, and I know Shane to be quite the gentkeman--unlike those who are anonymous!!
