About Cheerfulness

"Your cheerfulness can only spring up freely and healthily out of your heart when your heart is truly at rest in God; when you are satisfied with His ways, and wishing no change in them."

--Priscilla Maurice (1810-1854)

Don't you love being around cheerful people? I mean those truly, genuine cheerful people who don't have to work at it! For the most part, I think I'm a cheerful person, but I admit there are times I come up short in that department. I realize my testimony for Christ is impaired if I'm a grump. My number one goal for the month of February is to be more cheerful in the home and to have a merry heart;
for my heart rests in God!

I smile when I come here.
What a great encouragement. I don't think about cheerfulness much, but boy I need to work on it too. Thanks Pam!

'Twas a cheerful Christian man who encouragemd me while I was floundering through the snow in a swamp last night. Without him I would have either fallen and quit OR killed someone...

Cheerful is good!

Pam, that is such an excellent goal. As a homeschooling mother, being around the children so much more than the average bear, they see our grumpy moments (and we, there's) just a bit more often. But it's God's tender reminder that I need so much less of me, and much more of Him. I'll pray for His work in your life and in mine in that area. Blessings!

Pam, as long as I have known you, which has been a long time, you always choose cheerfulness if at all possible.

Pam, I have seen such joy in your home...

We all have the propensity to be unwavering in our quest on functioning in our homes day to day!
Once we relax and let God control it and not us, then the joy comes!!

Sorry again that you are not feeling well--will pray as God brings you to mind!

What a nice post. I like how you said your goal is to be more cheerful in the home. I find it more difficult to be more cheerful in the home than away from home. It seems there are more frustrations for me in the home; I don't know, but I, too, want to work on this in my home. Thanks for sharing this, Pam.

We could all pass on a dose of cheerfulness ~ find a cheerful person to be around. It really is contagious.
